Venues for wedding ceremonies in Montenegro

If you close your eyes and imagine the moment when two loving people are reunited and a new family is born, what will that day be like? For some it is important to see those closest to them, for others it is necessary to gather all their classmates and colleagues, and for others, in general, they do not need anyone except their significant other. But what will definitely be common is the desire to make this day a beautiful holiday for the soul, so that later, years later, looking through the wedding photos, you can say: “Everything went perfectly, I don’t regret anything!”

Montenegro, like no other country, is excellent for weddings and photo sessions. There are fabulous landscapes, an incredible sunny atmosphere and a mild Mediterranean climate. The absence of a language barrier is also important, since the Serbian language is part of the Slavic language group and is understandable to Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians.

As for wedding venues, there is a whole lot of freedom here. Everyone can choose according to their taste, be it a pier by the sea, an ancient villa or a viewpoint surrounded by mountains. It is worth noting that booking a site on your own can be quite problematic, since you need to first contact its owner, agree on a time (taking into account organizational issues), make an advance payment, etc. In addition, the arch, chairs for guests, and a buffet table are mainly provided only by event agencies.

Based on many years of experience as a wedding photographer, I have selected for you the most beautiful places to organize a wedding in Montenegro.
So, here we go:

Chapel of Saint Sava

This is perhaps one of the most sought-after locations. In the summer months you can meet wedding couples here almost every other day. It is not surprising, because the magnificent view of the island of St. Stephen and the mountain range extending into the sea will not leave anyone indifferent. There are several terraces on the territory where you can accommodate depending on the number of guests - a round one (for intimate events) and two for 20 or more people. There is parking nearby. From Budva 15 km.

Panoramic hotel Adrovic.

It has a convenient location right on the Adriatic Highway and private parking for clients. The complex has a wonderful restaurant facing the sea. From its terraces, the elite island of Sveti Stefan and the coastline are clearly visible. The complex has both an indoor hall and two summer terraces (for 80 and 45 people) with a dance floor. It’s convenient that in one place you can organize a banquet with a beautiful wedding ceremony, and immediately rent rooms. From Budva 9 km.

Open terrace near the Rezevici monastery

This is a nice place 15 kilometers from Budva, where even in high season there are almost no tourists. The monastery courtyard is well-groomed and landscaped, and the old stone churches exude strength and spirituality. The wedding ceremony can be organized on the observation deck overlooking the sea for more than 50 people.

Kastello fortress in Petrovac

This is a small fort from the era of the Venetian Republic located on a cape jutting out into the sea. There is a restaurant and nightclub on its territory. The summer courtyard on the upper tier can accommodate a medium-sized wedding.

Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Prcanj.

The beauty of this majestic temple speaks for itself. The luxurious staircase at its foot has long become one of the symbols of weddings in Montenegro. Suitable for both small and large luxury wedding ceremonies. The advantageous location allows you to change the landscape to the sea without wasting time by moving to the pier opposite. Nearby there is a nice promenade with palm trees, benches and blooming oleanders, which is often used to start a wedding photo shoot. In the backyard, on a hill, there is a small bell tower where you can exchange vows just as soulfully.

Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Perast)

This is the only Orthodox church in this unique town, which is fully listed as a UNESCO protected site. The church itself was built in 1757 in a very picturesque location on a hill. Thanks to the incredible view of the Bay of Kotor, it is very popular for both church weddings and secular weddings. In the courtyard, on the green lawn, branches of palm trees are spread out, giving the landscape a tropical motif. During the season, wedding photo shoots are often held here, taking a break from the heat of the stone labyrinths.

Panoramic deck of the Per Astra Hotel in Perast.

Located on the upper level of the ancient town, this terrace offers stunning views of the Bay of Kotor with huge liners sailing along it. A pool with crystal blue water, neatly trimmed grass and mountains around look luxurious in wedding photos.

Observation point in Lovcen National Park

A place with incredible energy and a mesmerizing view. Being actually at the level of heaven from here you can admire the bay, amazingly beautiful mountains with a string of towns at their foot. It looks most impressive in the pre-sunset time. You can have a wedding photo shoot on the way to this location.

Villa Milocer

Villa Milocer is an iconic place for Montenegro. This residence of the Montenegrin kings is used for hosting elite events. Famous athletes, politicians and celebrities often host parties here. When booking the villas of the complex, the solemn exchange of vows is allowed to take place on one of the terraces. The park area pleases the eye with shady olive groves, cypress alleys and tropical palm trees.

Orthodox Church of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Perast

The Rezevici Monastery is located 7 km from Milocer, right next to the Adniatic Highway in the direction of Petrovac. This is a quiet and cozy place with stone buildings in a classic Mediterranean style. On one side it is surrounded by majestic mountains, and on the other - the blue of the sea. The viewing platform located on the territory offers a magnificent view of the Adriatic. Here you can hold both weddings and outdoor wedding ceremonies with a large number of guests.

Moraca Monastery

Located in the northern part of Montenegro, two hours drive from Budva. An incredibly picturesque road leads to it along the gorge of the mountain river of the same name, passing through many tunnels and winding through the mountains. This place was founded in the mid-13th century by the dynasty of Serbian kings Nemanja. It is distinguished by both a special atmosphere and Romanesque architecture, rare in these places. The territory of the monastery is fenced with a fortification, and inside there are cells and the main temple. It has preserved the ancient paintings of the walls and internal vaults with gilding and embossing, and the massive carved gates made of valuable types of wood can be viewed for an infinitely long time. Definitely, a wedding ceremony held here will leave a deep imprint on the soul.

Monastery of St. Savin in Herceg Novi

The Monastery of St. Savin in Herceg Novi is a wonderful well-kept Baroque-style complex located on a hill overlooking the Bay of Kotor. This is a different world within the city, where the bustle recedes into the background.

Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is part of the Cetinje Monastery complex. It is located in the ancient capital of Montenegro and was founded in 1757. This is a majestic and iconic place where, in addition to the right hand of John the Baptist, many other Orthodox relics are kept. If you hold a wedding at the height of the summer season, there is a high probability of running into endless crowds of tourists.

Church of St. Archangel Michael

The beautiful Orthodox Church of St. Michael the Archangel located in the heart of the old town of Herceg Novi. It is unique in that it was built in three styles at once - Byzantine, Islamic and Romanesque Gothic. The rich decoration of the interior chambers and the grandeur of the exterior make it the most photogenic among the nearby shrines. If desired, you can order singers from the church choir for the wedding. This will give the sacrament a special depth and emphasize the impression.

I hope this information will be useful to you and you can easily choose what is right for you. I will be happy to conduct a beautiful wedding photo shoot for you and capture the unique moments of your wedding in Montenegro.
